Senior leader of CPIM party Mr. Madan Ghosh passed away on April 21 at 7:10 am. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, son-in-law and a grand-daughter and all the members of the family including numerous dignitaries. East Burdwan District Committee of CPIM Party expresses deep grief and condolences on his death. While he was ill, on April 19, he commemorated Rabin Sen at the birth centenary program at Khandara in West Burdwan district.
Madan Ghosh gained party membership in 1959 through the student movement. He also served as the Secretary of Burdwan District Committee of BPSF. His father Dr. Anathbandhu Ghosh and his family members were also associated with the communist movement. In 1971, his father Dr. Anathbandhu Ghosh was elected as MLA from Bhatar Assembly Constituency. Madan Ghosh joined the CPI(M) in 1964 when the Communist Party of India (Marxist) made its debut in the ideological struggle. During the semi-fascist period in the sixties and seventies, he played an important role in the management of the party in hiding for a long time. His role in build the party in the city of Burdwan in the first period and establishing the base of the party among the workers was unforgettable. After assuming the post of district secretary, his role in build the party in the whole district is particularly memorable. In 1977 Madan Ghosh was elected as the secretary of the Burdwan town-headquarters local committee. In 1973, of the party. Served as secretary of Burdwan district committee of CPIM from 1996 to 2002. Became a member of the party's West Bengal State Committee from the Siliguri conference in 1992. He was elected as a member of the party's state secretariat in 2002. In 2008, he was elected as a member of the party's central committee at the 29th party congress in Coimbatore.
Madan Ghosh was a leading peasant leader. He served as the President of Burdwan District Krishak Sabha for some time. Served as President of West Bengal State Committee. He held the post of Vice-President of the All India Committee of the Krishak Sabha for a long time. He had various plans for the development of agriculture and farmers. He played an important role in the development of farmers' organization in West Bengal. In the expansion of this organization, he ran to different districts of the state. Madan Ghosh, rich in class consciousness, never thought of rest despite physical difficulties at times.
While he was the Sabhadhipati of Bardwan Zilla Parishad, his thinking in the field of agriculture was identified. He was instrumental in setting up a voluntary organization called 'Sankalpa' in this work. One of his pamphlets on agricultural development explores alternative paths to agriculture. Not only the establishment of Sankalpa, but his role in build various organizations and institutions like Sadhana Press, Natun Chithi Patrika, Children's Cultural Center was exemplary. During his tenure as President, Burdwan left an important signature in the development work in various parts of Burdwan district including 'Sanskriti' Lokmanch. He took the lead in build the Party Education Center Motor-Binoy Trust.
Madan Ghosh was particularly interested in progress the literacy movement and public health movement, his role in establishing and managing the 'Shaheed Shivshankar Seva Samiti' will be remembered forever.
His writings in Desahitaishi, Ganashakti, Natun Chithi, Katwar Kalam Patrika's Sharad Collection have left important lessons in recent political-organizational fields. On the eve of Panchayat elections in 2013, N.B.A. Published pamphlets written by him created a huge demand among party workers across the state.
Madan Ghosh is a real communist in Marxism-Leninism practice, ideological struggle, firmness, self-confidence, behavior. His entire family is closely associated with the struggle of the CPI(M).

সিপিআইএমের প্রবীণ নেতা মদন ঘোষ ২১ এপ্রিল সকাল ৭টা ১০ মিনিটে প্রয়াত হয়েছেন। তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৮১ বছর। মৃত্যুকালে তিনি তাঁর স্ত্রী ও এক কন্যা, জামাতা এবং এক নাতনি সহ পরিবারের সমস্ত সদস্যবৃন্দ সহ অসংখ্য গুনমুগ্ধ মানুষজনকে রেখে গেছেন। তাঁর মৃত্যুতে সিপিআইএম পার্টির পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা কমিটি গভীর শোক ও সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছে। তিনি অসুস্থ অবস্থায় গত ১৯ এপ্রিল তিনি পশ্চিম বর্ধমান জেলার খান্দরায় রবীন সেন জন্মশতবর্ষ অনুষ্ঠানে তাঁর স্মৃতিচারণ করেন।
ছাত্র আন্দোলনের মধ্য দিয়ে ১৯৫৯ সালে মদন ঘোষ দলের সদস্যপদ অর্জন করেন। বি পি এস এফ-এর বর্ধমান জেলা কমিটির সম্পাদকের দায়িত্বও পালন করেন। তাঁর বাবা অনাথবন্ধু ঘোষ এবং তাঁর পরিবারের সদস্যরাও কমিউনিস্ট আন্দোলনের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিলেন। ১৯৭১ সালে ভাতার বিধানসভা কেন্দ্র থেকে তাঁর বাবা ডাঃ অনাথবন্ধু ঘোষ বিধায়ক হিসাবে নির্বাচিত হন। মতাদর্শগত সংগ্রামে ১৯৬৪ সালে ভারতের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি (মার্কসবাদী)-র আত্মপ্রকাশের সময়ে কমরেড মদন ঘোষ সি পি আই (এম)-এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হন। ছয়ের দশকে এবং সাতের দশকে আধা ফ্যাসিবাদী যুগে দীর্ঘদিন তিনি আত্মগোপন অবস্থায় পার্টির পরিচালনায় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা নেন। প্রথম যুগে বর্ধমান শহরে পার্টি গড়ে তোলা এবং শ্রমজবীদের মধ্যে পার্টির ভিত্তি প্রতিষ্ঠিত করতে তাঁর ভূমিকা ছিল অবিস্মরণীয়। জেলা সম্পাদকের পদে আসীন হবার পরে সারা জেলায় পার্টি গড়ে তুলতে তাঁর ভূমিকা বিশেষভাবে স্মরণীয়। মদন ঘোষ ১৯৭৭ সালে বর্ধমান শহর-সদর যুক্ত লোকাল কমিটির সম্পাদক নির্বাচিত হন। ১৯৭৩ সালে তিনি পার্টির বর্ধমান জেলা কমিটিতে অন্তর্ভুক্ত হন। সিপিআইএমের বর্ধমান জেলা কমিটির সম্পাদকের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন ১৯৯৬ সাল থেকে ২০০২ সাল পর্যন্ত। ১৯৯২ সালে শিলিগুড়ি সম্মেলন থেকে পার্টির পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য কমিটির সদস্য হয়েছিলেন। পার্টির রাজ্য সম্পাদকমণ্ডলীর সদস্য নির্বাচিত হন ২০০২ সালে। ২০০৮ সালে কোয়েম্বাটুরে পার্টির ঊনবিংশতিতম পার্টি কংগ্রেস থেকে পার্টির কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির সদস্য নির্বাচিত হন।
মদন ঘোষ ছিলেন অগ্রণী কৃষক নেতা। তিনি বেশ কিছুদিন বর্ধমান জেলা কৃষকসভার সভাপতির দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। সারা ভারত কৃষকসভার পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য কমিটির সভাপতির দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। কৃষকসভার সর্বভারতীয় কমিটির সহ-সভাপতির পদে দীর্ঘদিন আসীন ছিলেন। কৃষি ও কৃষকের উন্নতি সাধনে তাঁর নানা পরিকল্পনা ছিল। পশ্চিমবঙ্গে খেতমজুর সংগঠন তৈরি হলে সেই সংগঠনের প্রসারে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করেন। সর্বভারতীয় খেতমজুর ইউনিয়নের সর্বভারতীয় সহ-সভাপতি হিসাবেও তিনি কাজ করেছেন। এই সংগঠনের বিস্তারে রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জেলায় ছুটে বেড়িয়েছেন। অনেক সময় শারীরিক অসুবিধা সত্ত্বেও শ্রেণি চেতনায় সমৃদ্ধ মদন ঘোষ কখনও বিশ্রামের কথা ভাবেন নি।
বর্ধমান জেলাপরিষদের সভাধিপতি থাকাকালীন তাঁর কৃষিক্ষেত্রে ভাবনার পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়। এই কাজে 'সংকল্প' নামে এক স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থা স্থাপনে তাঁর অগ্রণী ভূমিকা ছিল। কৃষির বিকাশ নিয়ে তাঁর একটি পুস্তিকা কৃষির বিকল্প পথের সন্ধান দেয়। শুধু সংকল্প প্রতিষ্ঠাই নয়, সাধনা প্রেস, নতুন চিঠি পত্রিকা, চিলড্রেন কালচারাল সেন্টারের মতো বিভিন্ন সংগঠন ও প্রতিষ্ঠান গড়ে তোলার ক্ষেত্রে তাঁর ভূমিকা ছিল অনবদ্য। সভাধিপতি থাকাকালীন বর্ধমান 'সংস্কৃতি' লোকমঞ্চ সহ বর্ধমান জেলার বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে উন্নয়নমূলক কাজে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্বাক্ষর রেখে গেছেন। পার্টি শিক্ষা কেন্দ্র মটর-বিনয় ট্রাস্ট গড়ে তুলতে তিনি নেতৃত্বের দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন।
সাক্ষরতা আন্দোলন ও জনস্বাস্থ্য আন্দোলন গড়ে তুলতে মদন ঘোষ ছিলেন বিশেষ আগ্রহী, 'শহিদ শিবশঙ্কর সেবা সমিতি' স্থাপনে ও পরিচালনায় তাঁর ভূমিকা চির স্মরণীয়।
দেশহিতৈষী, গণশক্তি, নতুন চিঠি, কাটোয়ার কলম পত্রিকার শারদ সংকলনে তাঁর লেখাগুলি সাম্প্রতিক রাজনীতি-সাংগঠনিক ক্ষেত্রে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ শিক্ষা রেখে গেছে। ২০১৩ সালে পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনের প্রাক্কালে এন.বি.এ. প্রকাশিত তাঁর লেখা পুস্তিকা সারা রাজ্যে পার্টি কর্মীদের মধ্যে ব্যাপক চাহিদা গড়ে তোলে।
মার্কসবাদ-লেনিনবাদ চর্চায়, মতাদর্শগত সংগ্রামে, দৃঢ়তায়, আত্মবিশ্বাসে, আচারে-আচরণে একজন প্রকৃত কমিউনিস্ট মদন ঘোষ। তাঁর গোটা পরিবারই সি পি আই (এম)-এর লড়াই আন্দোলনের সাথে ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে যুক্ত।
