Rice Mills Association distributed umbrellas and Glucone D packets to 500 traffic police including civic volunteers

Due to extreme heat wave and intense sun, people are in dire straits all over South Bengal. Burdwan District Rice Mills Association helps by those who have to work standing in the sun all the time in this situation.
Today the Burdwan District Rice Mills Association distributed umbrellas, Glucone D, sweet packets and water bottles to around five hundred traffic police, civic volunteers, municipal traffic volunteers and working journalists. Purba Bardhaman District Superintendent of Police Mr. Kamnsheesh Sen IPS started this umbrella distribution program in front of Burdwan Curzon Gate on April 22. Additional Superintendent of Police Mr Kalyan Singh Roy, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Atanu Banerjee, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Chowdhury, Inspector in charge Mr. Sukhmoy Chakraborty of Burdwan Police Station, President of Burdwan District Rice Mills Association Mr. Abdul Malek, General Secretary Mr. Rajkumar Sahana, Treasurer Mr. Kanchan Som and Partha Nandi, Kiran Shankar Mondal Subrata Mondal, Manish Khandelwal, Jaydev Betal, Palash Sahana, Gafur Ali Khan and others were present. Superintendent of Police Mr. Kamnsheesh Sen along with other police officers and members of Rice Mills Association handed over umbrellas to the working traffic police, civic volunteers.
Superintendent of Police Mr. Kamnsheesh Sen said that it is incredibly hot at present. This type of heat is likely to continue next week. The district police has already arranged jalchatras in different parts of the town for this heat. Along with the police, common people passing by are also being given cold water to drink. Today Burdwan District Rice Mills Association gave umbrellas, glucone D, sweet packets and water bottles to all traffic police, civic volunteers, municipal traffic volunteers and working journalists on behalf of Burdwan Rice Mills Association.
Mr. Abdul Malek, president of District Rice Mills Association, said that traffic police, civic volunteers and journalists work all day long under the scorching sun. Umbrellas, packets of Glucone D, packets of sweets and bottles of water were given to about five hundred today to give them some relief. Apart from this, food items for six months have been given to TB patients of Burdwan district. He further said that Burdwan District Rice Mills Association is engaged in various philanthropic activities throughout the year.

জগন্নাথ ভৌমিক, বর্ধমান : প্রচন্ড তাপপ্রবাহ এবং তীব্র রোদে গোটা দক্ষিণবঙ্গ জুড়ে মানুষের নাভিশ্বাস উঠছে। এই পরিস্থিতিতে যাঁদের সর্বক্ষণ রোদে দাঁড়িয়ে কাজ করতে হয় তাদের পাশে দাঁড়ালো বর্ধমান ডিস্ট্রিক্ট রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন।
আজ ট্রাফিক পুলিশ, সিভিক ভলানটিয়ার, পৌর ট্রাফিক ভলানটিয়ার এবং কর্মরত সাংবাদিক সহ প্রায় পাঁচশো জনের হাতে ছাতা, গ্লুকোন ডি, মিষ্টির প্যাকেট ও জলের বোতল দিল বর্ধমান ডিস্ট্রিক্ট রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন। ২২ এপ্রিল বর্ধমান কার্জন গেটের সামনে এই ছাতা প্রদান কর্মসূচির সূচনা করেন পূর্ব বর্ধমান জেলা পুলিশ সুপার কামনাশীষ সেন। উপস্থিত ছিলেন অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার কল্যান সিংহ রায়, ডেপুটি পুলিশ সুপার অতনু ব্যানার্জী, রাকেশ কুমার চৌধুরী, বর্ধমান থানার আই সি সুখময় চক্রবর্তী, বর্ধমান ডিস্ট্রিক্ট রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন এর সভাপতি আব্দুল মালেক, সাধারণ সম্পাদক রাজকুমার সাহানা, কোষাধ্যক্ষ কাঞ্চন সোম সহ পার্থ নন্দী, কিরণ শংকর মন্ডল, সুব্রত মন্ডল, মনীষ খান্ডেল ওয়াল, জয়দেব বেতাল, পলাশ সাহানা, গফুর আলি খান এবং অন্যান্যরা। কর্মরত ট্রাফিক পুলিশ, সিভিক ভলানটিয়ারদের হাতে ছাতা তুলে দেন পুলিশ সুপার কামনাশীষ সেন সহ পুলিশের অন্যান্য আধিকারিক এবং রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের কর্মকর্তারা।
পুলিশ সুপার কামনাশীষ সেন বলেন, বর্তমান সময়ে অসম্ভব গরম পড়েছে। সম্ভবত আগামী সপ্তাহতেও এই ধরনের গরম থাকবে। এই গরমের জন্য ইতিমধ্যে জেলা পুলিশের পক্ষ থেকে শহরের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় জলছত্রর ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।সেখানে পুলিশের পাশাপাশি পথ চলতি সাধারন মানুষদেরকেও ঠান্ডা পানিয় জল পান করানো হচ্ছে। আজ বর্ধমান রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনের পক্ষ থেকে সকল ট্রাফিক পুলিশ, সিভিক ভলানটিয়ার, পৌর ট্রাফিক ভলানটিয়ার এবং কর্মরত সাংবাদিকদের ছাতা, গ্লুকোন ডি, মিষ্টির প্যাকেট ও জলের বোতল দিল বর্ধমান ডিস্ট্রিক্ট রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন।
ডিস্ট্রিক্ট রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন এর সভাপতি আব্দুল মালেক বলেন, ট্রাফিক পুলিশ, সিভিক ভলান্টিয়ার এবং সাংবাদিকরা তীব্র রোদ মাথায় নিয়ে সারাদিন কাজ করেন। তাদের একটু স্বস্তি দিতেই আজ প্রায় পাঁচশো জনের হাতে ছাতা, গ্লুকোন ডি 'র প্যাকেট, মিষ্টির প্যাকেট ও জলের বোতল তুলে দেওয়া হলো।
এছাড়া বর্ধমান জেলার টিবি রোগে আক্রান্তদের ছ'মাসের জন্য খাদ্য সামগ্রী দেওয়া হয়েছে। তিনি আরও বলেন, বর্ধমান ডিস্ট্রিক্ট রাইস মিলস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন সারা বছরই জনহিতকর বিভিন্ন কাজের মধ্যে নিয়োজিত থাকে।
