The 12th Duhok International Film Festival, Kurdistan, ended with enthusiasm

The 12th Duhok International Film Festival ended with a dazzling ceremony. Cinema speaks to people. Cinema highlights the culture of a country. Cinema has no language. The main goal of the 12th Duhok International Film Festival was to connect Kurdish cinema with international cinema. The eyes of the cinema lovers involved in cinema, from film directors, were at the 12th Duhok International Film Festival. In a beautiful and picturesque environment surrounded by mountains, the films of the Duhok International Film Festival were screened at the Duhok Mall Cinemax and the University Auditorium Convention Hall. This year's focus country was Spain. This international film festival, which began on December 9, ended on December 16. The honored films of the festival are special mention for the kurdish short film Award goes to “A Christmas Dreams ' by Arazo. Special mention for Kurdish short film in Panorama, for the film “Fountain” by director “Hazhir As'adi”.
The Special mention for the Kurdish Documentary award goes to “Hold still” In 12th Duhok International Film Festival Jury Award for the best short film goes to “105-33” In 12th Duhok International Film Festival.
Special mention for World short film, for the film “ My name is hope” by director Sherwan Haji. Fipresci Award goes to “All the mountains give” In 12th Duhok International Film Festival
The Duhok Governorate Award for the film "The last Word of Bave Tayar" by director Ghamkin Saleh. Zakho fans for winning the FIFA 2025 Fan Award.

Duhok International Film Festival is proving that their own art culture and cinema will one day reach the international level. As this film festival comes to an end, the planning for starting the next chapter has begun.
