President of Mauritius Prithviraj Singh Rupan at Dakshineswar Temple

President of Mauritius Prithviraj Singh Rupan and his wife Sanyukta Rupan visited Dakshineswar temple today. Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, President of Governing Council of India Foundation and 'Khola Hawa' was also present. President of Mauritius Prithviraj Singh Rupan paid devotional obeisance to Bhavatarini and his wife at Dakshineswar temple.
It is noted that the seventh President of Mauritius, Prithviraj Singh Rupan, wife has arrived in Kolkata on a 3-day personal visit. It was already known that the President of Mauritius would visit Kolkata to visit the famous Dakshineswar temple.
Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, President, Governing Council India Foundation and Khola Hawa said, "It is our great privilege to welcome Prithviraj Singh Rupan, an Indian-origin whose ancestral homeland is Kolkata.
Prithviraj Singh Rupan is a lawyer who was first elected to the National Assembly in 2000, and has worked in the arts and instrument of culture, social cohesion and regional administration. After gaining independence from Britain in 1968, Mauritius has become one of the most stable democratic states in Africa.
The President of the Republic of Mauritius is the head of the Democratic Republic of Mauritius. The country is a parliamentary republic, and the role of the President in the country is formal. The current President Prithviraj Singh Rupan assumed the office of President on 2 December 2019.

জগন্নাথ ভৌমিক, কলকাতা : আজ দক্ষিণেশ্বর মন্দির পরিদর্শন করলেন মরিশাসের রাষ্ট্রপতি পৃথ্বীরাজসিং রূপন এবং তাঁর স্ত্রী সংযুক্তা রূপন। সঙ্গে ছিলেন গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল অফ ইন্ডিয়া ফাউন্ডেশন ও 'খোলা হাওয়া'র সভাপতি ডঃ স্বপন দাশগুপ্ত। মরিশাসের রাষ্ট্রপতি পৃথ্বীরাজসিং রূপন স্বস্ত্রীক দক্ষিণেশ্বর মন্দিরে মা ভবতারিণী -কে দর্শণের সঙ্গে ভক্তিভরে প্রণাম জানান।
উল্লেখ্য মরিশাসের সপ্তম রাষ্ট্রপতি পৃথ্বীরাজসিং রূপন, সস্ত্রীক ৩ দিনের ব্যক্তিগত সফরে কলকাতায় এসেছেন। মরিশাসের রাষ্ট্রপতি কলকাতায় এসে বিখ্যাত দক্ষিণেশ্বর মন্দির পরিদর্শনের বিষয়টি আগেই জানা গিয়েছিল।
গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল ইন্ডিয়া ফাউন্ডেশন এবং খোলা হাওয়ার সভাপতি ডঃ স্বপন দাশগুপ্ত বলেন, "পৃথ্বীরাজসিং রূপন এমন একজন ভারতীয় বংশোদ্ভূত যাঁর পূর্বপুরুষের মাতৃভূমি ছিল কলকাতা, তাঁকে অভ্যর্থনা জানানো আমাদের পরম সৌভাগ্যের ব্যাপার"।
পৃথ্বীরাজসিং রূপন একজন আইনজীবী যিনি ২০০০ সালে প্রথম জাতীয় পরিষদে নির্বাচিত হয়েছিলেন এবং তিনি শিল্প ও সংস্কৃতি, সামাজিক সংহতি এবং আঞ্চলিক প্রশাসনের মন্ত্রী ছিলেন। ১৯৬৮ সালে ব্রিটেন থেকে স্বাধীনতা অর্জনের পর, মরিশাস আফ্রিকার অন্যতম স্থিতিশীল গণতান্ত্রিক রাষ্ট্রে পরিণত হয়েছে।
মরিশাস প্রজাতন্ত্রের রাষ্ট্রপতি হলেন মরিশাস প্রজাতান্ত্রিক রাষ্ট্রের প্রধান। এই দেশটি একটি সংসদীয় প্রজাতন্ত্র, এবং দেশে রাষ্ট্রপতির ভূমিকা আনুষ্ঠানিক। বর্তমান রাষ্ট্রপতি পৃথ্বীরাজসিং রূপন ২ রা ডিসেম্বর ২০১৯ এ রাষ্ট্রপতির পদ অধিগ্রহণ করেন।
